Jesus Mantas is the global leader of Strategy and Offerings at IBM Global Business Services (GBS), a $17B unit of IBM. He leads GBS’ strategy, M&A, cognitive asset development, commercialization, and thought leadership functions; he is responsible for driving innovation in GBS offerings and services to create sustainable value for clients. Recently, Jesus established GBS Ventures to expand client joint-ventures, develop GBS ecosystems and enhance internal innovation efficiency.
Jesus is a member of GBS’ Global Operating and Global Executive Teams, IBM’s Acceleration team and co-chairs the IBM Hispanic diversity council. He is passionate about technology education, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and the development of learning agility to enable clients and organizations to reinvent themselves. He is sought after by client C-suite for advice on leveraging technology for digital, business model, talent and leadership transformation.
Prior to his current role, Jesus held IBM various global P&L leadership positions during the last 10 years. As the global leader of Cognitive Process Transformation growth platform and IBM Business Consulting unit, he set up the world’s largest cognitive consulting practice. He lived in Sao Paulo for 4 years and led IBM Latin America Global Business services through 17 quarters of consecutive growth.
Jesus joined IBM from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was a partner in the High Technology Practice, and a lecturer at the University of California Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business. Prior to moving to the U.S. from Spain, his native country, he worked at P&G in Madrid. He has a master’s degree in Telecommunications and Software Engineering, a Business Administration degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain and served as an officer in the Air Force of Spain. He earned the “Great Minds in STEM” Corporate Executive Excellence Award in 2017.
